3M announced on its official website on December 20, 2022 that it planned to stop all PFAS production by the end of 2025. At the same time, 3M informed its relevant customers, including the manufacturers of clean agent fire suppression systems, that they will stop the production of NOVEC 1230 by the end of 2025, because NOVEC 1230 is a by-product of PFAS production process.
KEC Fire, as a professional manufacturer dedicated to the research, development, production and supply of fire chemicals, KEC Fire's FK5112 production process is completely different from that of 3M's NOVEC 1230.
KEC Fire will continue to provide customer with high-quality FK5112 product, and plans to continue to increase investment in expanding production capabilities in the next three years to meet the growing demand from the market, as well as the additional demand brought by the phase out of NOVEC 1230.
At the same time, as a leader with more than 30 years of experience in fire chemicals, KEC Fire has always been committed to meet customer needs, from Halons R&D and production, to HFC227ea and HFC236fa R&D and production, to FK5112 R&D and production. KEC Fire always believes that the concept of “safety first and environmental protection second” is guiding the company's research and development of new generation of clean fire extinguishing agent.
